Forget Me Not

Forget me not is a series of ‘Art mode’ digital prints on scarves and turbans. An extension of Coco's work as an illustrator, it features exclusively hand-drawn designs based on her personal compositions.

After graduating in fine arts from the Paris-VIII university, Coco worked as a communication consultant for leading French fashion designers and Couture houses. She now also creates illustrations for major retail brands and international publications spanning both the independent and mainstream press, including Vogue, ELLE, Nylon and Muse, and her work has been featured in several books and exhibitions.

Forget Me Not, her latest project, focuses on a line of silk accessories : extra large square scarves and turban-style head pieces produced in collaboration with celebrated hat designer Yazmin Rizvi. All products are manufactured in Europe in small quantities using a very fine digital print mode. Forget Me Not designs have also been featured for special collaborations on a range of other products including exclusive packaging for major brands in the beauty industry, as part of a window display in HP France in Japan, or as patterns on designer prints for Addition Adelaide, also in Japan.

Forget Me Not is a concept that typically blends recurring references from Coco's own visual universe, drawing inspiration from various sources including modernist collage works, Surrealism, constructivist patterns, esoteric imagery, totemic animals and literary references ranging from children’s tales to fin-de-siècle novels. Her approach mixes several techniques, combining traditional processes such as painting and hand-drawing with digital techniques. For the finished product, she balances a mix of visual restraint and minimalism with a more leftfield and pop-friendly approach.
